A simple, minimal-data approach

Free VIN Toolkit does not ask you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or payment information to decode a VIN.

VINs and requests

When you submit a VIN, it is sent to our service so it can request vehicle information from NHTSA. Decoded responses may be cached briefly at the network edge to reduce duplicate requests and improve speed. We do not build a personal VIN history or user profile from these requests.

Operational data

Our hosting provider and NHTSA may process standard technical request information, such as IP address and browser details, under their own policies. This is used for operations, security, and abuse prevention. We do not add advertising trackers or sell personal information.
